Cardboard is a versatile material that can be easily shaped and cut. Cutting cardboard is a necessary part of making packaging or promotional material, but also when producing cardboard furniture and accessories. Cardboard cutting can be done manually or with the help of machines. You can, of course, choose to do it yourself, but for the most beautiful furniture pieces, it's best to enlist Karton Design!
If you are considering cutting cardboard yourself, you should first have the necessary knowledge about it. Be aware that there are risks involved, and you should always protect yourself properly. Furthermore, you need to know how you can cut cardboard. This can be done both manually and mechanically. What you choose depends mainly on the size of your project.
Manual cardboard cutting is a simple process and requires minimal tools. To start, place the cardboard on a flat surface and mark the desired shape. Then use a cutting knife to cut along the marked line. Be careful to avoid tearing or damaging the cardboard. Since manual cutting can take quite some time, mechanical cardboard cutting might be a more practical solution
Mechanical cardboard cutting is an automated process performed using special equipment. Various types of machines are available, including flatbed cutting machines, rotary cutting machines, and laser cutting machines. Mechanical cutting of cardboard is suitable for large-scale production and can increase productivity and reduce costs. The downside of this method is that the equipment can be expensive and requires special training to use.
Cutting cardboard also carries certain risks. Cardboard cutting can be dangerous if not done correctly. The sharp edges of a knife or cutting tool can lead to cuts or other injuries if not handled carefully. Additionally, cutting cardboard can release dust and particles that can irritate the respiratory system. For these reasons, it may be better to hire a professional to do it for you.
