Cardboard Car for Top-Uitje.nl

For the event agency Top-uitje.nl, we designed a car made of recycled cardboard to be used as a teambuilding activity. By working together, teams can build an actually drivable car from just a stack of cardboard sheets using drawings. The requirements: the car must be able to be built by a team of 10 people in 4 hours, it must be able to seat one person, and complete a course.

We started with scale models to test the frame's strength and built and tested the car 1:1 with the client.

The cardboard car is 3 meters long and 120 cm wide and is strong enough to carry 2 people. Everything is made of cardboard: the wheels, axles, and the frame, allowing you to actually sit in the car. Only a steering rope was used to be able to pull the car.ShareRewrite
