Honeycomb Cardboard, a Feast for the Eyes

A light but very strong piece of cardboard that you can do a lot with. The structure of honeycomb cardboard really lives up to its name. If the top layer, the surface layer, of the cardboard were removed from the honeycomb structure, it would be comparable to the honeycombs of bees, a true honeycomb structure. A true pleasure to look at.

Strong due to the structure

The structure of honeycomb cardboard ensures that the cardboard is very strong, the load-bearing capacity is quite high. To a large extent, honeycomb cardboard can replace wood. Of course, an additional advantage is that you don't get splinters from honeycomb cardboard. You can even make stools and desks from honeycomb cardboard that are sturdy enough to actually use, so it's not just for show, but also for functional use.

Sustainable material

That paper can be recycled is not new. But honeycomb cardboard, which consists entirely of paper, is also recyclable and natural. The final design of honeycomb cardboard is biodegradable and therefore an environmentally friendly and ecologically responsible choice to have, for example, a beautiful piece of furniture or a display made from it.

Honeycomb cardboard is light

The fact that honeycomb cardboard is very light is due to the use of the ecological material paper. The layers of paper that together form the structure of (honeycomb) cardboard will never be able to outweigh the weight of, for example, wood.

Honeycomb cardboard has a visual appeal

The appearance of honeycomb cardboard is beautiful and special in itself, but when you cut through the plates, you can really see the special structure well. Because it is available in different thicknesses, you can also play a lot with the material itself by, for example, going up in height by stacking the honeycomb cardboard plates.

How do you want the final product to look approximately and what do you want to do with it? We then transform the sketch into a design in cardboard. Honeycomb cardboard, is only this type used?

No. Karton Design uses different types of cardboard to make the design as real and beautiful as possible. However, honeycomb cardboard will be the most commonly used type. The different types of cardboard ensure that your design is also developed as sustainably as possible. We work with, among others, corrugated cardboard or 16mm cardboard board which is also good for printing to take the design to another level or to match it to, for example, a corporate identity.

What kind of design can I submit, for example?

Actually, the answer to this question is very simple: almost anything you want to have designed, Karton Design can transform into a real product. From furniture to displays, from boxes to lamps. We can really go in all directions. You don't have to worry about someone running off with your design, because Karton Design works customer-specifically, so your idea really remains your idea.

Designs by Karton Design

Karton Design has already been able to complete various beautiful assignments, including for example a project for the Kröller-Müller Museum where we were able to develop 16 special tables. For Dela funeral care, we made 15 cardboard "good conversation" benches. These benches are built from 5 cm honeycomb cardboard and have their own print on the seat and top.
