Circular Furniture: Give Cardboard a Second Life

Many pieces of furniture are now made from sustainable materials. However, it can be even more sustainable. Circular furniture is made from waste materials. Materials get a second life as raw material for furniture. Do you also want a circular interior? Together with Karton Design, you can design new sofas, tables or chairs from cardboard. Cardboard is more than just packaging material; it's a raw material for sustainable products!

Single-use of materials is bad for the environment. Sometimes you can't use a product a second time, but you can use the material of that product. From the cardboard packaging of parcels, you can design and have cardboard lamps and accessories made. If you even make chairs and sofas from it, then those are circular furniture. It's a creative, functional and sustainable use of waste material. Cardboard often ends up undamaged in the waste. Using a potential waste product as a basis for your interior is good for both the climate and the environment.

Circular Furniture

For our cardboard products, we use newly recycled cardboard that is fully biodegradable. The cardboard is made from recycled paper. The cardboard products from Karton Design are therefore essentially circular furniture. Millions of packages are delivered daily, almost all packaged in cardboard boxes. At Karton Design, you can also have custom cardboard packaging made and later use it as a basis for other products. It is indeed a shame to throw away cardboard that has hardly been used. You can already speak of a circular interior if the furniture is made of cardboard.

Give Cardboard a Second Life

The presence of circular furniture makes people think about giving a second life to products or materials they no longer use. In general, using something for a second time is good for the environment and your wallet. The environment is even relieved in two ways, because you don't use another product and you don't throw anything away.

Circular Furniture from Your Own 'Waste'

Do you have a lot of cardboard waste and would you rather use it than throw it away? Use the cardboard as a basis for other cardboard products. Circular furniture shows that a lot can be extracted from so-called waste. It makes you think and you're less likely to throw something away. Our cardboard furniture and accessories are already sustainable, but a circular interior is even more sustainable.

Companies also have a lot of 'waste' cardboard. You can use this as a basis for cardboard furniture, lamps and accessories in, for example, the company canteen or the open-plan office. In this way, you show employees and business relations that used cardboard can be used sustainably.
